2026 USCA Florida GC Regional

The 2026 USCA Florida GC Regional was held at the National Croquet Center in West Palm Beach, Florida on March 5-8. The field consisted of 30 singles players and 32 doubles players, in two flights each. The average dgrade in Championship Flight was 1920, and First Flight was 1612. With priority given to players of the Florida Region, the field also included players from North Carolina, South Carolina and Canada.
We started each day with a doubles match, providing players with the opportunity to warm up their game before the singles games began. The Doubles finals kicked off Sunday play, with the team of Curtis Drake/Brian Cumming defeating Bruce Hindin/David McCoy to win Championship doubles. Luke Sand/Rick Brown won First Flight doubles, defeating Jeff Morrison/Rick Hayes. Bruce Hindin won the Championship Singles, defeating finalist Matt Griffith in two games. Matt fought hard right to the end, pushing the second game to the hook. Jodie Rugart won the Championship Plate, defeating Curtis Drake. Kim Jones won First Flight singles, defeating finalist Susan Langston. Susan was undefeated through the entire tournament right up to the finals game. Pat Spratt defeated Luke Sand for the First Flight Plate. Earning prequalification status to the upcoming GC Nationals in September were Bruce Hindin, Matt Griffith, Kendall Hendrick, and Adam Peck in Championship Flight and Kim Jones, Susan Langdon, Rick Hayes, and John Strasser in First Flight.
Regional Vice President Alex Galasso presided over the games as Tournament Manager, with Elaine and Rocky Smith as Tournament Directors. Priscilla Flowers served as head referee.
Continental breakfast and buffet lunches were presented each day by the always great Sandy James, with the Sunday buffet of fried chicken and all the fixings being the special favorite.
