Golf Croquet – UPDATED 11-05-2024 – THERE IS STILL TIME TO ENTER THIS EVENT.
Jeff Soo - TD
The USCA and CFA are holding the first US Open GC Tournament (a USCA titled event) at the National Croquet Center (NCC). The NCC is operated by the Croquet Foundation of America (CFA) in West Palm Beach, FL, USA. The tournament runs from Monday, January 6, 2024 to Saturday, January 11, 2024. Monday is the ProAm doubles tournament with the event sponsors. See the details on the US Open GC ProAm web page. The ProAm, on January 6th, is a one day fund raiser that tournament players will participate in to help fund this event. The ProAm will give participating tournament players a full day of practice on the lawns Monday before starting block play Tuesday.
Tuesday singles block play begins. Expect to play 4-6 games a day. Following block play we will begin best 2 of 3 game matches in knockout rounds. All players go to the knockout. Players that lose in the first two rounds of block play advance to either the plate, bowl or shield where they will compete in a quarter final for each group. The final will be best 3 out of 5 games match on Saturday.
Prize money has been donated by our sponsors. More tournament details will follow.
Due to all of the tournaments, including the World Championship, in September and October we are allowing more time for players to organize travel and join the wait list. On November 1st we pre-allocated slots to players with D-Grades above 2200. Any player above 2200 that joins the waitlist this week will be immediately pre-allocated a playing slot. On November 8th we will pre-allocate all players above 2100. This will give overseas players time to arrange travel. The allocation date is now November 15th . On the allocation date players will be admitted by D-Grade. We will allocate the remaining slots in the tournament at that time. Players should remain on the waitlist and keep their travel plans as players often withdraw and slots open up to play.
North American players that are members of USCA can login to the website and join the wait list directly. Non-USCA members and overseas players can send requests to join the wait list to, tournament@uscroquet.com. Details of allocation are subject to change if needed. If slots remain after allocation, players may be admitted as they register. Limited hosting will be available for overseas players. A block of hotel rooms nearby at discounted rates will also be available.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE WEBSITE WILL SAY THE EVENT IS FULL BUT IT IS NOT!!! THIS HAS TO BE DONE IN ORDER TO CREATE THE WAIT LIST.
Entry fees for North American players are $250. Entry fees for overseas players are $150. It is a goal of the event to provide a tournament that attracts top overseas players. Attracting top world talent will provide good exposure for US based players and a domestic event to test their mettle. To encourage their participation the USCA is offering a subsidized entry fee to overseas players. USCA will notify you when you are admitted to the event. You will then have 7 days to pay your invoice. USCA members can pay on-line. USCA is providing overseas members a complimentary USCA membership for one year effective on payment of the entry fee to allow the players to compete in a USCA event.
Don’t miss the chance to be part of this inaugural event. There is only one chance to say you were there when it all started and helped make it happen. Our mission is to make this open an annual world premier golf croquet championship.
We look forward to your participation and support of this event,
