Allocation process for entries.
This year’s event, as with many major tournaments, has limited capacity which emphasizes the need for a timely and effective process to set the field. This is especially important for traveling participants to have adequate time available to plan and make reservations effectively.
To accomplish this you must first sign up to the Wait List then players will be chosen by the following schedule.
October 6, 2022 – (on or before) All USCA members that have earned a prequalification must sign up on the event wait list before Oct 6, 2022. Failure to timely register your entry on the wait list will result the forfeiture of your earned prequalification position.
October 7th, 2022 - Those pre-qualified from the wait list will be moved to the registered participant list. At that time, you will receive an email notifying you of the transition from wait list to event registrant. You will need to make payment to secure your entry by October 14th. (Your prequalification will lapse on October 15th, 2022.)
October 8th, 2022 – If spaces are available they will be filled by ranking from those USCA members on the waitlist. This gives approximately eight weeks for participants not prequalified to make travel plans.
October 15th. 2022 – Spaces made available through the lack of registration and full payment or withdrawal will be filled by ranking from those USCA members on the wait list. This gives approximately seven weeks for these participants to make travel plans.
We are looking forward to a great event this year and your participation will contribute to making it a successful. Thank you for your continued support and being part of our nationwide croquet community.
Pre-qualified players will be accepted in the following sequence:
- Must be a USCA member in good standing.
- The 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th place in singles and the 1st & 2nd place team members in doubles from the previous year’s championship flight.
- Regional pre-qualification
- Championship - The top 4 finishers in singles and the top 2 finishers in doubles in a USCA 6W Regional this year.
- First Flight - The top 4 finishers in singles and the top 2 finishers in doubles of the first flight in the USCA 6W Regional this year.
- The USCA 6W National Champions from the last 5 years and the USCA 6W National Doubles Champions from the last 2 years.
- USCA Croquet Hall of Fame members (Handicap will determine which flight)
- Presidential exemption. The President may exempt up to 3 individuals who may not meet the above qualifications. (Handicap will determine which flight)
- Participants in immediately preceding 6W Regional Championship.
- Active USCA members in good standing. (For this purpose, active is defined as having participated in at least 1 sanctioned tournament in the preceding 12 months). This category is ordered by ranking as of allocation date.
- In the event of over-subscription, entries will be accepted sequentially based on the above listed qualifications. Players in pre-qualifying in paragraph 2 will be given preference over players in paragraph 3, and so on. Players within each category will be given preference based on the order in which entries are received.
- All players not pre-qualified in the above categories shall notify the USCA office of their desire to enter, submit an entry form, and shall be placed on the waiting list. Players on the waiting list as of November 10th, will be accepted subject to availability in the following order:
a) USCA handicap
b) Order of finish in a 6W Regional tournament of in the preceding year.
c) The order in which the USCA receives the entries.
- Following the entry allocation distribution by preferences, entry will be based on the order received.
